The Lake

Thanksgiving in Georgia was picture perfect. Generations gathered together in one of Zebulon’s most gracious homes. What a delight, as the front door opens and other family members walk in. The annual reunion brings with it a mixture of memories, some good, some sad but all a “celebration of life“.

A treasure of personalities, warmth, humor but most of all …… love.

I usually write about real estate but as I was sitting here, thinking about my next post, it occurred to me that I have really had an amazing life for which I am very thankful.  Most people don’t have the opportunity to be born in another country like Australia, move to the US and then live in Florida, plus travel to 5 continents during the past 10 years. 

One of my favorite places is Africa, especially Kenya which I have visited several times.  Here’s a “what NOT to do in Africa.  I can remember being out in Masai Mara on safari, getting out of the jeep (really dumb thing to do) and coming face to face with rhino……  What was I thinking?  Obviously not thinking.  Sometimes you just get caught up in the moment, that’s all I can say.

Maybe the next post will be about Morocco, or Peru, Nicaragua, or Rome … who knows. 

Anyway, the bottom line is I have a great life, great family, oh we all have our moments, but I am loved beyond measure and there is such a contentment that comes with knowing that.

So be thankful, because you just never know what tomorrow will be like, let alone today.  Hope you know that you are loved too.

The December numbers are in and 17 units valued at $1M and over were sold in Hillsborough County, Florida.  The average listed price was $1,727.034 and average sales price at $1,647,804.  Average days on market being 217, with680 units in that price range.  This equates to a 4o month supply and 1.55% of the total market share.  If we include units priced $700K and above, 41 units were sold during December.

 The total units valued at over a million dollars which sold in 2007 were 178, however if we include those $700K and above, 448 units were sold.
